Miranda Leigh Lambert who was born on November 10, 1983 in Texas, is an American country singer and songwriter. She is an associate of the Pistol Annies and best recognized as a solo-artist. Miranda has been feted by the Grammy Awards, the Country Music Association Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Lambert’s introduction album Kerosene that released in 2005 was accredited Platinum in the US, and produced the singles which were top 40 hits on Billboard Hot Country Songs. Her 2nd album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, was launched in 2007. Though the title songs didn’t make it to top 40, the subsequent 3 singles were top 20 hits. Her 3rd album, Revolution, was unveiled in September 2009. In 2011 her fourth album Four the Record, and fifth Platinum, in 2014.The album was headed by the lead track, Automatic, which charted #5 on the Country charts, and secured the Grammy Award for Best Country Album.
Miranda Lambert was married to singer Blake Shelton from 2011 to 2015.
At 16, Lambert performed at a talent show on the Johnnie High Country Music Revue in Arlington, Texas, She then learned a recording period in Nashville, Tennessee, but discontinued it after she became irritated with the pop style of music given to her. In 2000, she went back home and asked her father to show how to play guitar, with the aim of writing her own songs.
In 2003 she participated in the talent show Nashville Star, where she finished with third place. When she was 18, she played in several places like The Tap in College Station, Texas
Kerosene and Crazy Ex- Girlfriend:
She signed her introduction single, with Epic Records and released Kerosene, Lambert’s 1st album that premiered at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums charts and ultimately acquired a Platinum certification by the RIAA for deliveries of over 1 million copies.
Lambert’s second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was released on May 9, 2007. Her 3rd album, Revolution, was released on September 29, 2009. Of the 15 tracks, she co-wrote 11 of them.
The Pistol Annies and Four the Record
On November 1, 2011, Lambert’s released her 4th album, Four the Record. She recorded a track featuring The Pistol Annies for The Hunger Games, called as “Run Daddy Run”.
Lambert introduced her new venture, girl group ‘Pistol Annies’. Lambert, Angelina Presley and Ashley Monroe were the members of the group. In May 2011, they launched their single, “Hell on Heels” which debuted at #1 on country’s Billboard chart.
On February 5, 2014, from Lambert’s 5th album Platinum was released. The top single “Automatic,” got praises from music critics also, secured her first Grammy Award.
Marriage and Divorce:
Lambert started dating her associate country singer Blake Shelton in 2006.They got engaged in May 2010 and were married at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas on May 14, 2011. The couple announced their divorce on July 20, 2015, after 4 years of their marriage. The reason for divorce is said be as Lambert’s unwillingness to start a family.
2016 saw Miranda visit the UK as part of the C2C 2016 line-up, headlining on the Friday night. We hope it’s not the last visit for Ms Lambert and looking forward to her future returns
